Her widowed mother, who has eye problems, earns a modest living by sewing clothes at home. In addition to managing household responsibilities, her mother supports a married daughter with three children who is battling late-stage breast cancer. Despite pressure from her family to abandon her education, Areeb is determined to continue and to be able to support her mother.
